This is my little piece of heaven. It’s perfect in the afternoon when I want something a little sweet that will hold me over until dinner. It’s thick and creamy like a milkshake. The chocolate and the cardamom make it feel special and just a little decadent. On a cold day, you can warm it up on the stove. The smell of the cardamom alone will send you over the edge into heaven. Oh, and the kids like it too. But really, this one is for me – and you.
Sunflower seeds are high in vitamins and trace minerals as well as being a good source of good fats that help to feed your heart and your brain. The raw cacao is very high in antioxidants as well as the minerals that produce the “feel good” factor in our brains. The aromatic cardamom aids in digestion as well as keeping your blood pressure down. When the school bus brings your little darlings back home, you might need some help with that.
This recipe uses my sunflower seed milk recipe.
- sunflower seed milk - 1 cup
- raw cacao powder - 1 tsp
Raw Cacao is rich in cell-protecting anti-oxidants, as well as containing a wide variety of vitamins and minerals. This wonderful bean not only makes everything taste good, it makes us feel good too.
- honey - 1/2 tsp, raw
- cardamom - 2 pinches, ground
Mix the ingredients well. Put the second pinch of cardamom on top. Enjoy.
